I hope Justin knows what he's doing. I hope Philip tells Teri. I hope Cat stands tall against his managers' attempt to "straighten" him a little. I hope Eric and Charles turn into toads. (Okay, in Eric's case that wish is superfluous.) I hope I don't get seasick. Yikes, a Cael post, in other words. Ann Marie
A rather melancholy post... Phillip, pondering on how things are changing. Seeing things with the eyes of wisdom, yet tinged with the pain of the past. And I've always loved the term "sea change" - I feel one upon myself, at the moment. You never know where they will take you.
I am taking you advice and am posting more comments. I absolutely love this. But you are frightening me. Are they....? I also like how concerned Phillip is for Justin. I think back to the early stories and how I hated this character, but you have evolved him in such a way that I really like him.
I also really like the new "gang". If two years ago someone would have told me that there would be a group of friends that Brian and Justin would develop outside of the Liberty avenue gang and that those friends would be even more endearing, I would never believe it. But you did it well. Keep up the good work.
Randall and I moved them to NYC in part to get rid of the old gang whom neither of us much liked. We thought Brian and Justin could do and deserved much better. Glad you're enjoying.
MMMMMmmmmm!! Do sea changes happen when the wind blows a different way?? What could this mean?? All these people from Philip's past in this one spot to have him being reminded of things it sounds like he'd rather stay in the past. Loved this line and hope Eric gets more: “Yes, I understand. Demands of business can be so overwhelming, especially as one reaches a certain age.” I'm not quite sure what to feel about this-and it gives me a not good feeling: You won’t mind if I steal him away from you for a bit, will you?”
“Not if he doesn’t mind.” I return the smile. “And you return him.” I like Teri-we have to keep Teri
A sea change is a deeply profound transformation, generally caused by an external agency. Nothing to do with the sea, really, except in the origin of the term so no, no wind either, lol. Have to wait and see for the rest.

Melancholy (thanks Happy, that's just the word) in terms of Phillip and his musings on Cat.
Unsettling, in terms of Justin's "just business" attitude, and Phillip feeling it was off - especially given where Brian is right now.
And then Charles turning up.
Don't like the "stealing away" line, not at all.
And my stomach roils at having anyone from the DS in the same room as Justin.
What a start to Monday.
