I'm suffering from a huge case of burnout. I've finally said 'fuck it' to the hospital and taken more than just two or three days off. I have five whole nights off to spend with myself and Jennifer. Well, things go. Work was work. Thursday night was killer, spent in the ER running between taking people to the trauma bay and doing tele runs. Its not unusual for me not to have a lunch but for the first time in five years with Staffing, I filed not to have the thirty minutes taken off my paycheck. 5C/D is one of the busiest units in the hospital. Monday night we recieve a kid (he was actually 22) off the cruiseship. Apparently this little busboy had decided to do some speed and PCP while docked here. So when he got to us, he got ahold of his foley and drained it all over his floor. I've spent the day divided between cleaning the house, makng a few simple flatblades (getting the feel of cutting the foam and curing the glues), and revamping the myspace page out of the dominating Wheel of Time theme. Well, another 60hours devoted to UTMB down the drain. Had a couple of good nights but most were busy enough that by the fifth night by back was screaming enough.
