If you're looking for a good book on Jewish history and to follow the disperssions of our people, I highly recommned: 'A Historical Atlas of the Jewish People'. It's a beautiful, big hardcover book loaded with the pictoral history of the Jewish people from the time of King David to present day. Very easy to read and not dry at all, discusses both Ashkenazi and Sephardim. Kinda pricy though, so you might wanna check your local library or request an inter-library loan. I have to look at mine for the author, but I know that's the title. Hope this helps :D.
"Judaism for Everyone" by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. Most definitely. Highly recommended for anyone of any faith wanting to learn about Judaism. He explains all the differences in principle between Judaism and the other religions, explains a lot about Jewish rituals and their significence, and discusses the fundementals of Jewish philosophy.
