I read an article recently (in a prestigious collection) saying that our hunger response is genetic, and it is regulated by a chemical, the name I don't remember.

Also, any diet that controls the amount of calories you intake, should work...Some are probably better for you than others. I believe in The Zone, but who cares.

I heard from someone (don't remember the reference) that we use volume of food to gauge if we are full, and we learn from a very young age what that volume is.

All of those things together say to me: It is nearly impossible to live sustainably and happily at a weight lower than what our body wants chemically. Working out can help, for sure, but isn't really a weight loss strategy.

That said: You are in excellent shape and fit and beautiful. You have lucked out and worked hard. Be happy with yourself, and with other people for being what they are.

yes, it is interesting how chemicals and hormonse play into weight control and hunger...There was a french researcher who studied eating and sleep habits. She basically found when people didn't get enough sleep, it triggered some hormone that increased peoples hunger response. Hence the overweight, sleep deprived American epidemic!

Thank you for the great compliments :)

I do feel very happy with myself and body in general. It feels good. But I can be happy and still want to loose a few pounds, and get in better shape too. I am am making progress and working towards my goal...
