Brums not that hard to drive around really. You've gotta be a semi-confident driver because the taxi's speed around. As long as you've planned ahead, know where you're going and have maps etc of the area you've be fine. I never use a sat nav - I like to know where i'm going and I manage fine around the country!

There's a car park not too far from symphony hall, Brindley Drive car park. Its open late and is fairly cheap :) ...right next to uni halls so I know it well... other than that you've got the NEC car park which is just a stones throw away!

For the Barfly I usually park at the Bullring! ...thats easy to find, just follow signs for the station! x

I once drove around Brum for 3 hours because I'd relied on the AA directions. THey expected me to have already taken turnings before I could see the signs/roubdabouts etc that they were talking about like I'm psychic!

I use Multimap or google maps now, but haven't braved driving to brum again.

Good luck x

i have no idea if there is parking by them... we usually park by aston uni and walk to wherever we need to go (which is a bit of trek to the barfly!). but the parking is free there!

we're just parking at my dad's and getting the bus in for the gig though. you can park there too if you want... although i'm guessing you probably want to get straight off after the gig!

It's anywhere between 20-45mins on the bus. We probably will still catch the bus. Well, my dad might want to drive but I'll make him catch the bus so he can have a drink ;)

But I have heard (on the new board) that parking around the Barfly is free! Depends what time you're getting there I guess!

well we're thinking of getting there late afternoon, say 4ish and grabbing some grub before the gig. Are there any weatherspoon type places around there? (i.e pub-ish places a 15 year old can go in!) we have absolutely no idea how to get to Birmingham by car, let alone finding the barfly! i mean, is it even in the city centre? I know where the academy is in relation to the train station but thats it! HELP!
