Apparently, a puppy has been born with the shape of a heart in its fur. There are some othe examples of heart shapes in nature, although it's not common. It's usually quite beautiful, though.

Tonight I made zaru soba. Next time I make it, I'll need a volunteer to help eat it. Any takers?

there is thunder and occasional bouts of rain and a swan on the lake and a mountain of books to read. dad is snoring in the other room and there are cupcakes that i can safely eat and my dogs often come and put their scratchy nails on my leg and look at me with their big, pretty eyes. the air here smells nothing like new york and i am glad of it.
