UNC's admissions have been off lately (in my opinion, judging by where some GSE got accepted), so I was slightly hoping you would be one of those people that got waitlisted by Carolina and got into UPENN/Columbia/etc. so you wouldn't have to go to Carolina and could go somewhere else instead. Anyway, congrats on UNC and NYU - definitely a bonus with the scholarship, even if it is your 5th choice. I've got my fingers crossed for our three (that I know of) IB UPENN applicants!

thats what happens when they have a completely non-formulaic admissions process and its just a bunch of old cronies sitting around making semi-snap judgements with no real standards of comparison.
