hey blair. its viviam from orlando. i moved to los angeles but im gonna go visit my cousin who happens to live in asheville this sunday the 21st. im gonna stay there till tuesday morning. i hope you still remember me and it would be amazing if i could see you again. it's been such a long time. let me know if you wanna get together or something.
I just accepted an MIT position with Loft last night. Not really wanting to start out on the bottom, but I think it will be a great company for my future :)
very cool. i'm currently pissed at ann taylor (stores) as a company.. they've really screwed me over.. but loft has been a little better lately.
as far as a future goes -- great opportunity. i went from an MIT (ann taylor stores doesnt do the MIT position anymore.. they replaced it with sales lead/keyholders) to a store manager in about six months. and when the asheville store closed, they didnt have any management positions open in greenville, so i accepted a sales lead position (i have to sell $400 an hour), but they're still paying me the same salary, and i'm eligible for commission (2%)..
but yeah, congrats!! it's a very ethical and good company, especially compared to all of the other corporations around.
and as far as retail success, ann taylor kicks the ass of banana republic, talbots, etc.. very sucessful company!
How are they screwing you over? The commute and everything? It is weird that we have 2 Loft stores in Columbia, yet no *Ann Taylor*. I really was hesistant to take the position because GameStop is ready to offer me a Store Manager position when a store opens up, but hopefully I'll move up Loft really quick. It definitely should satisfy my clothing addiction :) Are bonuses worthwhile ever? I know this store I'll be at is rolling in volume.
