An Open Letter to... Drivers

Jan 20, 2005 16:23

Dear Drivers,

Do NOT wave me by at an intersection! I understand you're trying to be helpful, really. However, just because YOU want me to doesn't mean the other people sitting in traffic want me to. You want to do something nice? Help an old lady cross the street! Give blood! Anything else!

Thanks,

Justnathan

I'll remember to just drive over you next time. I won't wave you by at all!

dude, i know! i had a woman try to wave me across the street in carytown the other day, while cars were continuing to go by in the other lane! i was so annoyed by it i started yelling at her, which probably made the other people standing in the crosswalk and walking by think i was crazy, but still... i just hate that people do such things. in fact, my dad had his car totaled and was lucky to walk away due to this sort of thing--someone in the right lane of the road he was driving on waved a person trying to turn out of a parking lot on, and that person apparently wanted to be in the left lane. they didn't bother to see if anyone was coming in that lane, and totally ran into my dad, who was driving by at that time. it's things like this that make me unwilling to take advantage of drivers who disregard the laws of traffic/right-of-way in order to attempt courtesy towards me. i don't want courtesy if it puts me in harm's way, k thx.

I knew somewhere in this world my aggressive driving was appreciated by some one. Thanks for the pat on the back.
