I visited American University today. I was very disappointed with the open house. The campus is blah and nothing makes the university stand out besides its reputation (which it didn't uphold during the visit) and the fact that it is in DC. I know it's one thing to be told it, and another thing to do it, but don't stress it too much! I remember being the same place as you are now - however, here's a perspective check. this is not the most important decision in your life. it is one of a serious of decisions, all of varying importance, but all important nonetheless, which will eventually lead you to wherever you're going. chances are, by following your heart and doing what feels right, you will find yourself right where you need to be to become who you need to become. the details about each specific place are, in the grand scheme of all that, not as important as allowing yourself to do what feels right.

chances are you'll be happy at any of those where you can see yourself. the little differences don't change a lot; there are probably at least 12 or 13 colleges at which you'd be just as happy as you would be at any of those others. as you get more infortmation, one of them is most likely going to start standing out to you. remember, you still have overnights, and that experience will probably tell you more than any brochure, website or visit.
