So Dora is being upgraded to look more in line with the Bratz ideal of tween sexy, kinda like what they did to poor Strawberry Shortcake. What's most disturbing to me is that this change makes sense to me from a marketing perspective. The "pre-schooler turning into tween" set will eat it up ( Read more... )

The Bratz dolls kind of creep me out. I think I understand the intent, yet something hits me as just off.

For me it's the "I'm too cool for everything" attitude that gets me. If there's one thing the kids do NOT need to learn from TV is that the "too cool for everything" attitude is desirable.

Oh jeez. Why wouldn't it be easy to introduce a "friend of Dora" who's a little older? Maybe a cousin?

There's a REASON parents (and young kids) like Dora. Why fix something that ain't broken?
