Not to be flip but it's hard to believe this is real. It sounds like the plot to some bad 80's action movie with Treat Williams or something. But I think you may be right. We may have to wait until "Act 3" before things improve.

The solution is simple, but garnering congressional support behind it is not so much. You're right, they'll react only after the blood of registered voters is spilled.

I often wonder if that would be true. I'd be interested in seeing some numbers of revenue from pot vs other drugs.

I imagine a day, not too far in the future, where vast fields of weed are grown in fields that were not viable for growing other crops, employing thousands of people, and everyone getting high in the streets(like in Canada).

I've heard (I don't remember where) that marijuana sales make up about 60-70% of the revenue for these cartels. If that's true, then yeah. Total house of cards.

I'm not a pot friend, but I do wish the penalties were less. I heard rumors about Mr. Obama decriminalizing pot, which isn't the same as making it legal, but it's really one of those crimes that ought not clog up our prisons.

I think the drug war really sucks and I wish it weren't happening. I feel bad for all those poor saps living in those border towns, who are stuck and can't escape.
