Where exactly did you find this blood and hair? McNalley ran a busy shop - can you be sure you won't simply find a customer at the end of your trail of evidence?

She certainly seems to have run a busy shop, but from the numerous reports we've received, she was impeccably tidy. The blood and hair were obtained from her flat, not from the shop itself. Certainly there is a chance it is from the customer.
As for my method, if you must know the macabre details, I removed a fair amount of material from under Ms McNalley's fingernails. Good rule for self defence if you think you're going to be dead, Muggle or wizard, doesn't matter -- take a piece of your attacker with you. I don't think it was her own face she clawed because I saw the head suspended there and it was mostly undamaged. I say mostly because whatever spell was holding it up kept the flies and maggots off, and because she had several wounds, but they didn't break the skin -- they only looked like head traumas
