Bela felt like she was going to pass out. It hadn't been a matter of doubting him, but the fact that for once in her life, things worked out exactly the way she had wanted them to. The room was spinning and she was so overwhelmed with emotions and hormones that she wasn't sure whether she wanted to laugh or cry, so instead she just clung to him, letting her forehead rest against his shoulder as she tried to find her bearings again.
"Thank you." Her voice was probably barely anything more than a whisper, but the words were sincere, and she couldn't put it any other way.
"Well, it was time for that to change." He ran a hand along her cheek. "Because while getting where we are now has been a series of accidents, I can't imagine being any happier, and knowing that we can enjoy this now without any fears of deals or demons. You still want this, right?"
