eden is burning [either brace yourself for elimination or else your hearts must have courage]

She hadn't been joking when she said the only dollar signs she saw were from her paycheck and her bills, she wasn't rolling naked in a bed of money like she wanted to. No, instead she was sitting on her back porch in a sundress enjoying the weather before some rain storm or tornado or work came and ruined it. It was a rare day off, so few and far ( Read more... )

Logan pulled up out front in his trademark bright yellow SUV, checking the address on the piece of paper in his hand before hopping out and buttoning up his suit jacket, and adjusting his tie. He had found the sign on the front door, and followed its instructions. He smirked as he came across the near-naked lady listening to the hippy music. Blue eyes sparkled with amusement behind the sunglasses.

"I'm sorry, I seem to have forgotten my flairs and peace pipe. Should I come back when I'm more properly attired?"

Penn tipped her sunglasses back and after wrinkling her nose and blinking against the sunlight, she smiled. "You're perfectly attired," she said with a soft laugh, pushing her sunglasses back into her hair and sitting up, smoothing her skirt down as she swung her legs over the side of the chair.

"Nice tie," she added, standing up so she could take in the whole package. Hmm, she thought he should have added 'I am ridiculously good looking' to his list of ten.

Logan could be vain, and he could primp with the best of them but apparently he thought his looks would speak for themselves. He gave her a decent once over too, taking off his sunglasses and tucking them into his jacket.

"Well, you did mention have a Thing for them, so I had to make sure I chose a decent one." There was a quirk of his lips that could have been a smile. "Wouldn't want to let the team down."

"No," she said slowly, shaking her head whilst mentally fighting her accent back. It was hard going, the soft southern lilt always snuck in at the most inopportune times. "Wouldn' want that."

Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear (to which another promptly fell into her face), she tucked her hands in the pockets of her dress and nudged the sliding door open the rest of the way with her foot. "Come on in, don' want you meltin' out here. Might ruin the suit."

"I've never walked a poodle, so I wonder if she'd do it for me for five bucks if I just strut around without my shirt on. Or maybe just send Dick over to do it. He'd get his shirt off for a dog treat." Logan had nothing against his best friend, but it was undeniable that Dick marched to his own drum. Nude.

His gaze dropped to her toes, and it crossed his mind that it might be a little forward of him to just start sucking on them. So instead he licked his lips and took another sip of tea. Damn those petite blondes and their painted toes.

"She's cute, her name's Sassy." Penn rolled her eyes, but she wasn't going to knock it, she loved her five dollar pedicures.

"Who's Dick?" she questioned carefully. Logan had brought him up before, but hadn't offered and explination so well she was curious okay, so sue her, not her fault.

Logan didn't exactly explain a lot of things about himself, but when questioned by the right person he could sometimes find it in himself to answer. "Dick's, well... he's Dick. I'd almost say he was a state of mind but that's misleading since he doesn't have one. He's been my best friend for many years, and sometimes I even forget why. Dick Casablancas," he offered.

"Hmm," she murmured a noise to acknowledge she'd process, but she didn't offer much past that. She didn't know Dick Casablancas so she couldn't exactly pipe in her two cents about it tpoic at hand. Instead she finished her tea and put the glass on the floor with a clink.
