Hinata had wanted to avoid the festival. Too many people were going to be there and too many eyes to watch her. In the end, however, her father had told her in that "do this or suffer the consequences" voice of his to go to the festival. She was supposed to help represent the Hyuuga Clan to the other families of Konoha. Luckily, she had not been ( Read more... )

The elder Hyuuga wasn't feeling much more optimistic- large crowds of noisy people tended to make his head hurt, and the festival had those in abundance. But all things considered he thought he was doing a better job of hiding it. Rather than looking at the ground, Neji looked straight ahead, focused on their destination. Hanabi watched the two older Hyuugas' speaking to each other, when she heard her own name mentioned she started to listen to what they where saying.

"I'd...actully like to go to the tea house, a cup of tea would be nice, wouldn't it onee-sama..?" Hanabi said, after a moment’s pause, patting Hinata's arm, and giving her a small smile.

Hanabi always wished that Hinata would feel better about herself, being shy was fine by Hanabi, but Hinata had gone beyond shy.

"That sounds fine," Neji replied, nodding. He entertained the idea that maybe, just maybe, he'd be able to stay at the tea house for a good part of the festival, and thus avoid the crowds for a little while. Tea ceremonies tended to last for a few hours, after all, and during a festival it would probably go for even longer...

Turning a corner, the three cousins headed in the direction of the village tea house.
