With a wistful sigh, Sakura idlly played with a strand of hair as she waited for Sasuke to show. He'd actually put up a considerably minimal amount of protest when she'd suggested that he get out and try to enjoy himself. They 'agreed' to meet up at the festival, but it was really more Sakura just telling him to show up or else ( Read more... )

By the time Sasuke reached the festival, he had greatly regretted ever agreeing to come. True, he had said that just to get Sakura to shut up about it and not pestering him all day long, but now, being in the midst of a bustling crowd, filled with chatter and incoherent noise, the Uchiha was getting more and more impatient. Not to mention there had been curious and and suspicious glances thrown his way, and the not-so-subtle muttering about "the traitor", plus the shuffling movements away from said traitor's way.

Tucking his hands inside the pockets of his pants, which, seeing no point of dressing up, the Uchiha had kept as his attire along with the black collared shirt he was wearing earlier, Sasuke kicked a pebble, sending it tumbling down the dirt road. He lifted his head, and immediately spotted the shock of pink hair at a corner of the street. Sighing warily, he made his way over to the kunoichi.

"Sakura."

It should really not have been a surprise that Sasuke's clothes were his usual ones, or at least something that wasn't 'festive' enough for what was going on within Konohagakure.

"Sasuke-kun," she returned in greeting. "I didn't think you were going to show at all." Stepping closer to him, she smiled brightly, glad that he had chosen to come out after all.

"You look...nice." It was difficult to give a compliment on how nice he looked when, in fact, it was the same exact way that Sakura saw him everyday. But, in an effort to lighten his mood, she just went with it. "So, should we get something to eat?"

Stepping through the hoardes of people heading towards the main part of Konoha, and closer to the festivities the village had prepared, Naruto adjusted first his hitai-ate, and then his jacket. A bright smile was pasted on his whiskered face, as he nodded acknowledgement to the people he passed in the streets.

It was a great day for a festival! He thought to himself, glacing up at the clear night sky, as he headed boisterously towards the festivities. Hopefully... he'd be able to find Sakura-chan again, and be able to convince her to finally come with him for ramen or something ( ... )

Sakura had just finished forming the end of her sentence, asking if food was an option, when she heard another familiar voice quickly approaching. Upon seeing Naruto approaching, she turned to face him with the same smile that she had greeted Sasuke with and waved.

"Naruto!"

Leaving the still-silent and stoic Sasuke where he stood, the pink-haired girl took another step in Naruto's direction, making an attempt to meet up with him, calling out to him again.

"Oi, Naruto!"

Stopping in her tracks a moment, she glanced back over her shoulder to where Sasuke still remained, never ceasing to smile. "Well, aren't you coming?"
