I was just in the break room starting the automatic tea pot. Somebody noticed what else I was doing, and asked incredulously: "You microwaved your tube socks?!?"

"Of course," I answer brightly. "They are full of rice!"

Then I walk out with the nuked socks in hand, leaving a selection of bemused co-workers behind.

My memory is not very selective, I'm afraid. It is more like the attick or shed where all sort of almost-junk is tossed; the thing you need right now is always under everything else.
