because people keep asking me why, as a woman, i'm not supporting the woman candidate

i don't know, but it seems like a lot of women in my parents' and grandparents' generations feel like electing A WOMAN is the important thing, not THE BEST CANDIDATE.

Thats a really scary thought. this is how we got into the mess we are in now. Electing based on everything OTHER then the best candidate.. :P

my friends from other countries are boggled as to why people are so concerned with race and gender. why we don't care about issues as much as demographics.

I agree very much with you. I will disclose that I have been leaning towards Hilary (but haven't made up my mind; thank Jeebus for late Texas primaries), but it has nothing to do with her womanhood, and I find it offensive and gross that people try to push the "if you're a woman and not voting for Clinton, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU OMG." I've heard it several times recently, and it's kind of why I'm reevaluating my decision.

i've also been accused of supporting obama because he's the senator from illinois where i lived until august. i voted for him when he ran for the senate, sure. EVERYONE voted for him when he ran for the senate.

at this point, i really respect the obama campaign because they are running with grace and dignity. they don't spend all their time pointing fingers at other people. they also don't spend all their time running away from the fingers being pointed at them.

i don't know. none of them are my dream candidate. john edwards was closer than obama but i can't vote for him anymore.

And I have to support Holy Joe Lieberman because otherwise I'm turning my back on the millenia-long struggle against antisemitism... uh, no thanks. Gimme the guy named Hussein any day.
