That is fairly accurate. After looking things up, I didn't realise just how different the SNES version was from the arcade; it appears that it was in order to capitalise on several memes from the cartoon and from the movies in the SNES port. However, the problem is that the SNES port was so darn GOOD and this one just feels so lacklustre is the key difference, and you nailed it.

I wonder how many people remember the details of the arcade version over that of the SNES version? I wonder if they will like it better. Hmm.

At any rate, agreed wholeheartedly.

I felt the same way about the 360 port of Contra--it was the arcade version and I liked the SNES one so much more! :P
