You've arrived hours beforehand. You've triple-checked your tickets. You've stood in line to get a spot right in front of the stage. You've waited in a close-pressed crowd of strangers, waited through sound-check and roadies poking at the microphones and tech people mumbling on walkie-talkies to other tech people. I've got to second this review. Lilo & Stitch is one of my favorite movies, but this movie found a way to one-up it: take two of my favorite things (lizards and Stitch) and combine them into one character. It was even better since I didn't know about the directors, so it came as a surprise.

Regarding the movie's deviation from the book, I saw a comment on that online while trying to figure out if there was some overlap between the two movies. Apparently the first set of directors/writers tried staying true to the book, and the result was an incredibly boring movie. At that point, they brought in the new directors and changed it.

I only disagree with your review on one point. The movie had Craig Ferguson in it - he definitely counts as voice talent. While watching the movie, I couldn't help but think that role was written specifically for him.

Craig Ferguson was totally great. imdb says that he's done a handful of voice-acting gigs, but I wouldn't exactly call him an A-lister, which was broadly my point. None of the casting decisions seemed based on "lets hire someone popular so that everyone will come to hear them talk" (i.e. Owen Wilson in Cars). There's probably someone out there who saw How to Train Your Dragon based on Craig being in it, but that's a slim demographic. ;)
