Memorial Day

Today is Memorial  day, Of course I am young enough to remember when it was called Decoration Day.

You have to give a lot of credit to those who did military service in  the many wars we have been in and sadly too many lost their lives.   My personal experience was a year of so in Army ROTC at MIT.  When I went there it was required for freshmen

My dad served in the Korean War; two of my uncles served in WW2; my brother and I did not serve, nor did my four nephews. Still, I appreciate Dad, Bob and Ken's service. Many of my neighbors, all widows, have been to the cemetery in the past three days.

These days, sadly, I am more concerned about memorializing the children slaughtered in Texas. Uvalde is not far from where my brother's segment of our family lives. :(
