a friend and i were talking yesterday about the current state of our economy when we stumbled unto the real estate market and how for the right person, this would be the most ideal time to purchase. very little to no interest rates, dropping property costs and tons of homes for sale. as sad and unfortunate the market is right now for some right now

as someone who's currently on the "market" - I was told by our bank rep that now is not the best time to buy. he says that it's best to wait another 4-6 months since it is expected that prices will get better as people become desperate. I'm not sure i'm fully convinced though - given that everything seems to be upredictable, we we're thinking of just biting the bullet and buying now. what do you think - am I insane or should I wait?

if anything, i say wait.
i agree that prices will definitely get better. the US is really feeling the pressure of the recession but we here in Canada have been more fortunate where a lot of us haven't felt the effects YET...
