Kelly and Brian decided not reveal Clark's secret at the end of Homecoming. The reasoning so I hear was so that last scene could be just about the emotion of Clark and Lois exchanging their I love yous. The good news about that decision was it allowed the Smallville writing team to devote an entire episode to revelation of Clark’s secret.

I am a bit forgiving of this one overall though, as you already know, because the good stuff really hit the right notes for me.

I agree with you. It appeared to me that this episode was being re-written even as it was filming. There were so many good ways to handle Isis and those ways were thrown out in the episode and were apparent to the viewer, and yet, those good ways and threads were not picked up and instead were left dangling before us.
You see the Sun God (and what else would anyone call Clark? He is the Sun God) brought to his knees by Isis. And you give a good plot for this to happen.
I've always seen Lana as Isis (she formed a foundation called Isis---of course Lana is Isis) and she has always been obsessive about Clark and wanting to possess everything about him. Secrets and Lies, Clark. She also, in her way, kept him with her on the Farm.
The show should have kept this Isis meme for Lana, if or when she comes back. Although Tess could work. Tess has been controlling and possessive of Clark and his abilities, too.

Would the 'Accidental Dropping of the Amulet of Isis in Lois's Bag' qualify or not qualify for that? It wasn't technically in the Shield episode. That makes it interesting.

Cat is a Conservative. She knows all about those SEX rituals from her Conservative Pals who practice them daily before they go and babble about Values.
Miracle Grow?
haha! That is what they use in the Clone Lab as a cell culture.
can we just skip to playing doctor?
Well Lois has put Clark's legs in the Stirrups! And Spread Them. Haha!
Clark greets her with one of his phantom catchers and sucks Isis' spirit right out of Lois' body.

And yet Clark has a smile on his face. He's a kinky one, that Clark. And Cat knows it.

If they've got to put Lois in an outfit they might as well be creative about it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I love your ideas for an alternative version of this episode. I do that sort of things all the damned time with SV. My own little "wouldn't this ep have been better if..." Heck, in my head, I rewrote the whole Alicia arc in S4.

Oh, me too! I have to consciously restrain myself or I'd spend a ridiculous amount of time posting episode re-writes. Glad you liked this one. :)
I'm kind of more in love with the Samson and Delila twist on Isis than I should be what with combining two strong man literary allusions into one. Of course I've always been a sucker for buy one get one free sales.
SV obviously has something going for it when it continues to draw people in despite having more than it's fair share of questionable plotting, eh?
