I love that people dressed up for the rally. Thats completely whack-a-doo, and yet hysterically funny and free-spirited at the same time. Unfortunately, I think sane left the building when it comes to the US government a long time ago.

I figured there would be lots of funny signs but the number of people in costume was completely unexpected. With it being the day before Halloween maybe it shouldn't have come as such a surprise.

The costumes did turn out to be one of the more fun aspects of the rally.

While I'm more of a Grover fan Elmo is great so long as he's knee high to Katy Perry and speaks in that nearly unintelligible yet adorable monster voice.

When he towers over 6 feet tall and speaks in a raspy baritone a bit of the charm is lost. ;)

Sanity? Or Fear?

The Rally to restore Sanity? I was thinking of going to the Rally to restore FEAR!!!! But other things intervened.

I was thinking of going to the Rally to restore FEAR!!!!
There were a bunch of people there hoping to keep fear alive. In fact it was interesting to see so many couples split between restoring sanity and keeping fear alive. The rally did seem to bring Americans together.

And this is just anecdotal evidence but I observed that for the majority of couples the man wore a restore sanity shirt while the woman advocated keeping fear alive.

I was tempted to try attributing this to gender politics but in the end decided maybe it all just came down to T-shirt fit.
