in case you hadn't noticed

This journal is sort of friends-only, as is per the liking of many such lj users as myself who don't like just any old person off the street reading their entries. Still, if you make contact and reciprocate, it's not entirely impossible to gain admittance to the presitigious friendslist and experience the full vision of my MO...

Heh, I'm a total wind band lit geek. I've never been a marching type, but I love the concert stuff. I went through a huge Gillingham stage a couple years back when I really got into Apocalyptic Dreams and the Concertino for Four Percussion. He's not my favorite wind composer nowadays, but he's up there. I don't think I'll get a chance to play him during my undergrad, unfortunately. I suggested once to our director of bands that we play 'Waking Angels' in the wind ensemble. Her response was that she wasn't too thrilled with Gillingham to begin with, and that piece just 'irked' her. C'est la vie.

Welcome to the show.

Hello, from a fellow Mac-interested, Nebraskan livejournalist. You seem interesting, so I have added you to my friends list, in hopes you'll make some non-protected entries, or maybe even reciprocate. I think we've talked once or twice on IRC, forever ago, and we seem to know a few of the same people. Small world, etc.

Also, you may be interested in joining the nebraskans community.

heh, yeah, I remember you dropping into #avara once or twice way back in the day and finding out that not only were you from Omaha (to the date I had never met anyone in my regular IRC channels from Nebraska), but you were at least at the time a student at Prep, the high school I attended. I sometimes read the nebraskans community, but I usually like to keep a level of separation between my rl friends and my net friends. This becomes painstakingly important when reading my livejournal, which drops names like vetere's mom drops her pants for a quarter. As such, there are at least three people in the community that I actually know (like, have talked to in real life more than once), and they don't know that I have an LJ. For the most part, I like them to find me, rather than the other way around. ;)

However, even though I've probably been within two feet of you in my life, we've never really met, and even barring that, none of the posts would be wholly relevant to your connection to me IRL. Hence, you're cool.

Welcome to the club.

Hello moy79 May 27 2003, 17:57:04 UTC
Hi,

I'm new to this whole LJ thing, so in hope of making a few acquaintances I did a search for people with similar interests, and guess who turned up at the top of the list?

I added you to my friends list (you're my first!), in hope that you might return the favor and help a fellow band geek not feel so alone in the world :) Not a lot of entries in my journal at the moment (and they're probably not very interesting either), but the number will rise with time.

So, I hope you will consider it! :)

well, since I'm in a heightened sense of band geekdom at the moment, you're in luck. Hope you enjoy the reading.
