Really, I have! Using Amber's laptop at work I've discovered it doesn't have a lot of resources (PC wise) and I've been denied sites like youtube or anything really intensive. I found out a few weeks ago that LJ was included when I started experiencing massive lag while on LJ. But, this shall be remedied, more later.
First, I had an AWESOME birthday! Literally, the best I've had in years! It was nice because it felt like people actually remembered I came in to existence that day and weren't displeased about it! Yea, my mom and Amber and some family always remember, but having friends remember me was really nice. For those of you wondering, it was the 19th of this month. I had wanted to post that day, but, it was so nice I just sat and enjoyed things.
Second, I ordered a laptop! YAY! I'm finally getting my own, and I think it might be better than my desktop..... For those of you wondering, I'll have to install XP on it as its tainted with the evils of Vista. I really shouldn't talk though, I may end up getting a certification for Microsoft Computer person stuff so as to get a job. Really, I have heard bad things about Vista, but haven't actually touched it myself (I'm a bit afraid to really). It just seems like one of those ideas that sounded good but had horrificly poor execution.
Third, I will take another shot at running a Star Wars RPG game. This time I'll be using the Saga Edition rules, which I need to start reading. I feel ashamed, I own three of the books from this rules set and have barely touched them. But, while I finish up my L5R campaign, I'll be going over them and playing KOTOR I & II because a source book for Saga Edition, for the KOTOR era (like you didn't see it coming), will be released at Gen Con, that glorious golden time that ends the summer nicely and begins the transition to Fall.
Fourth, I am still reading up and studying to take my Comp TIA A+ Certification. Once I have that, I'll really be able to kick off a new jobsearch where I will hopefully find gainful employment repairing computers. After a bit of a break following my A+ Cert test I plan on going for the Comp TIA Network Certification, and it continues on from there. I've always liked working with computers, and I actually learned about them in college (as well as tinkering with my own). I'm very excited to be doing this again, and my eagerness is moderated by the difficulties I have with working the nightshift.
Fifth, the standard for being a hardcore fanboy has been set, again, by the Japanese. Long video, for Mario and/or anime fans only...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIRCzbBB99E And now I'm off to do some reading. First Comp TIA, then Star Wars. I look to G.O.D. to know that I am right in my path with SW, may his wisdom and the blessings of the JJ guide me to truth.
