Fricking tell me about it. I was all like "Jewels" as well because of permanence and beauty-necessarily, and also 'cuz of Revelation chapter 4. But man, sound encompasses music, and those creatures and elders in Revelation 4 are gonna be speaking God's praises eternally. Have I learned nothing from Amy Barackman?
But I suppose I was doomed to failure on Sarcasm vs. Surprise. If I had to do it over, I'd still go with the former.

Well, I think music is sound + a kind of order, just like language and speech. When you isolate sound as a physical phenomenon (and locate the greater things that sound transmits properly in the brain), it becomes much less powerful, simply a medium through which ideas are transmitted with no relation to the actual transmissions themselves.

Mostly true, but I would say "with no necessary relation". Onomatopoeia exists, after all.
