Arrived!
Well, after spending half of Friday, then Saturday, Sunday, Monday and half of Tuesday in Eugene... I got my car back and immediately got on the road. Drove about 8 hours south to Dunnigan (about 30 miles north of Sacramento) and stayed at a clean Best Western ($73 incl tax!) - it even had a fridge and microwave! Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara rages on...
I spoke to my sister a few times this week, the latest being about half an hour ago. The foothill areas of Santa Barbara are ablaze. There are evacuations in process and evacuation warnings for miles and miles of the city and surrounding area.
