Ellen? Really? I wasn't very impressed with this at first, but after thinking about how Ellen and Tigh "left" each other on New Capcrica, ... well I can come to grips with this.
And Dee? I'm not a Dee hater, unlike most people, I just found her boring and kinda pointless. But man, oh man, do these guys know how to pack a punch. All the way through the ep you get this feeling that they're building Dee up for a spectacular reveal (and I was dreading this - I didn't want a boring character to have an important role) and then BAM! (quite literally). The shot of Gaeta in the reflection of the locket was heartbreaking because you just knew something was up, something was defiantely wrong. This was shot beautifully.
I loved the "frak earth" grafitti and the senseless violence that went unnoticed for Adama. God, the desolation. All of their hopes turned to despair.
Depressing TV makes for very, very good TV.
