My auntie suggests looking for things that are made with splenda and not sugar. She also suggest that maybe something like hummus or taro may sub in as your sweet tooth need. My mom says to ask your dietician but that she thinks that there are a lot of sugar-free candies that diabetics take that may work if it's a sugar craving. She said that her neighbor is eating a lot of beef jerky and other stuff that has a chewy texture and takes awhile to digest.
It's not a sweet craving, it's more of a ... fat craving maybe? Peanut butter, my god, yum. I have some chocolate that's sweetened with fruit that's really good, so it's not the sweetness I'm craving.
I would honestly avoid fake sugars if you can. They're really scary.
I don't see why a little bit of peanut butter would be bad? Maybe pb on a grahm cracker or something like that? If you just had one, I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal.
I agree with this comment, except that I might try a little peanut butter with a lot of banana. Ask the dietician if that's cool when you're desperate for tagalongs.
