I disagree with the idea that you can't have difficult conversations without having to endure a racist's posts on your facebook pages. Sorry, but staying friended to a douchebag is not a necessity to me in order for me to feel you are a valid ally, but speaking out vocally and powerfully definitely is.

The two are not mutually exclusive, and I think it's hypocritical to say "You have to stay friended to the racist assholes so you can change their completely unchangeable minds, but I already ditched them because I shouldn't have to listen to their shit". :P You shouldn't have to listen to their shit either, full stop.

Yes, speak out. Yes, try to make change happen even with the people you think will never change, cause they will DEFINITELY not listen to me. But no, you do not have to stay friended with them. That's a ridiculous idea.
