Camp was a huge, huge part of my childhood, and one of the biggest things about it was that it was a safe place for those of us who didn't have that many safe places growing up. I can only imagine what these kids are going through, especially for the ones who consider their week at camp the best week of the year.

at the press conference yesterday, they were saying scouts were performing triage on each other before emergency teams could reach them.

as a former camp counselor, i cannot even begin to imagine.
