So postpartum depression blows. It is awful and unfair and should be stricken from the planet.

But here's the thing: with ppd people feel sorry for you and rally around you and sympathesize and hold the tiny screaming mass.

With plain ole depression, nobody wants to hear about it or deal with it.

Depression is horrible. All of it, for any reason or from any source. It's a life thief.
