Seriously?? THAT'S why stories are being taken down?
Well, that kind of explains a lot, actually. I got a lot of stories taken down, and I'd also been getting flamed a fair bit, whereas some of my friends haven't got anything removed yet.
Thanks for letting me know, I signed the thing, but I think I'm just gonna stick to Livejournal. Fanfiction.net was full of internet trolls anyway
I actually kinda love flames. Only writing that made an impact in some way makes people go bonkers like that. I find it sorta flattering. But I guess it gets old really fucking fast. And I only signed up for FF.net for one (or two, can't remember) stories waaaaaaaay back in the day. But in the end I found the system too complicated.
I was amused at first, but after the first ten or so, it started to get annoying. It's annoying when it's obvious they haven't even read your fic, they're just bored idiots who enjoy hating on slash :/
That being said, I can't stand hardcore canon fans who are like 'that'd never happen!' either. Like, chill out. We're all just trying to have fun here.
I think there's less anonymity here, which is why everyone who does use LJ is much nicer. There's not a lot of room for anonymous trolls.
Good point. I haven't gotten enough hate to find it annoying yet.
And ugh, fanatics of any kind are just horrible. If they don't like the angle of the story, then they can maybe... oh, I dunno... NOT READ IT?! *groan*
And yes, the inability to be anonymous scares off at least 90% of the trolls.
I'm so sorry, that's just awful. :( I've seen fucked up stuff like that on Tumblr too, I think it's partly the semi-anonymous environment that encourages people to be assholes. At least with LJ, for the most part, that's relegated to the bigger communities.

I generally just ignore negative comments. 'Don't feed the trolls' and all that :D but if I ever do decide to respond, I'mma definitely use that :D
(I really can't get over how much this monkey looks like my mother... I think I actually have to email this to her)
