And might I say, as I am not too clear anymore on the specifics (if I ever had the specifics) but any termination based on a claim, or opinion in a personal blog has been shown to be a civil rights violation. Specifically the 1st amendment.
That said its one of those things companies like to do, like the little privacy signatures at the bottom of emails that company lawyers insist are binding but are actually scare tactics; because time and again they've been proven as invalid in court unless they precede the message, and the message can only be opened after "accepting" the agreement. (Read as, "by decrypting this GPG message you are accepting")
Frankly, if my understanding is right, all I can say is I think you are more forgiving than most by not being more ... disputant ... with them....
Ok you are right .. but I know there is some other civil statute that says similar for corporations. Basically it would fall under wrongful dismissal. They would have had to sue for sue for slander first, then win, before dismissal.
That's what I get for trying to remember my HR classes when I am sleep deprived and seemingly acting somewhat self destructive. Sorry old friend.
I disagree, one can be a Jabba due to their repugnant presence (Erica), and the other because they are a self-righteous tyrant who will use whatever means necessary to rule with an iron fist.
My favorite grammatical mistake of hers though is:
I never once had a conversation with you that eluded to you being anything other than a women.
And this bitch had nerve to tell me that I can't form a proper response? She doesn't know me. I cut bitches. Oh and I'm working on the whole break-in-to-journalism thing. =P

Oh, I know. I've gotten quite a few messages from peeps. I actually think it's awesome... more fanbase for me =)
My boss even sent me a follow-up message. More of her back-tracking and trying to convince herself (because she will NEVER convince me) that she is just a good person and she was in the right... and I'm the attention starved child.

well good - wasn't sure if you knew.
ok, so i understand about the incident that led to you losing your job but what i DON'T get is that she's still reading your journal and getting worked up about it....when you don't work there anymore??
Re: just an FYIk8mnstrJanuary 15 2009, 23:18:51 UTC
lol yup. Here is her complete response to this post:
I had tried to contact you privately and work out whatever hatred you had for me and if there was something for me to apologize for, I would have. I tried to communicate to you privately; childishly you air it on the open internet.
Its my fault for thinking you could behave privately to begin with. Honestly, I am truly sorry for whatever I did that you feel needs to be publicly discussed. Obviously an attempt to generate some form of drama and attention to yourself. I had no other intention than to discuss why you reserve "hate" for me. Sadly, I was wrong in thinking that was something you could do.
Any discussion I have about you at work is over your show and my opinions of it. Contrary to what you believe, I have no other reason than that. She freely admits to still discussing me. I'm sorry but her justification is off too. I have had THREE separate people from my previous job tell me she still makes reference and talks about me. She's a thirty-something loser in a dead-end

Sadly, I did not have a government job, but instead worked for a heartless multinational corporation.
I already have friends at the ACLU who are just waiting for the word go. Everyone gets their comeuppance.
