I'm obviously not willing to go out and drop over a grand on a piece of proprietary Apple kit just to sync my iPod. And the days of plug-n-pray and lack of security are enough to have me limiting my interactions with Windows to nothing more than a virtual machine.
I just had to remember that if it work easily or seamlessly than everyone would already be doing it, and that the effort I put into tweaking the system is what makes it mine.
Yes, I'm going to have to tweak a few things here and there (or write a work around) in order to get something functioning, but I'm not spending thousands of dollars or risking losing all of my work later on down the line to get it done.
You'd be surprised how far that peace of mind can take you.
It also helps to have a tech-savvy significant other who throws out suggestions to you every once in awhile =)
