I don't care what anyone says, I thought it was a good, uplifting, middle-of-the-road politically, and thorough speech.
I felt that Obama showed vulnerability and humility at times, and strong leadership at others.

I just hope he follows through on the promises he made tonight.

What is predicitable, but sad is so many conservatives are attacking him, but few are saying anything about his repeated challange to them to quit saying no to everything and freakin' govern.

Kyle said something really interesting this morning - that the founding fathers never intended for politics to become a profession. They thought you should govern as part of your civic calling, but at the end of the day you were still a farmer or lawyer or whatever your chosen profession.

Isn't that interesting? Because once it's a job, the priority can become keeping it rather than performing it.

We all, D or R, need to do a better job of holding our elected officials accountable. It's part of their 'job' to lead, and not to play games with our tax dollars and the responsibility we have given them. We know we need government, but there are very few that have faith in the current establishment.
