Time machine is a POS

Dear Apple,

You are retarded, and time machine is complete shit.

Your datastore is a bunch of files, not a binary database, which is a nice idea, because at least you could recover if something bad happens, but then you've gone and attached acls to every single entry in the entire thing, so to get something out you have break the acls on every single point in the tree from the top to your desired entry. So the benefits of using the filesystem are pretty much lost. Good going spending all that engineering time you'll never get back to make it less performant, and dumber.

If the amount of data to back up grows significantly, you silently erase the entire history.

You're amazingly slow, spending unexplainable hours on "calculating" or "cleaning up" or other vauge tasks with no explanation.

You have no scheduling, at all.

By default, you strongly negatively affect usability of the normal system, partly because your operating system has a terrible I/O scheduler.

There is no log. There is no ability to debug. There is nothing at all to help people solve real problems.

In short, a couple of shell scripts and rdiff-backup are about 50,0000 times superior to your idiot solution.
