I really like this. There was a marked change in Axel from his sadistic nature in Chain of Memories to his near frantic searching side in KH2. In the beginning of the game, it seemed as if he was willing to take out Roxas if it meant he wouldn't become a Dusk, but the happiness on his face when he thought Roxas remembered him can't be ignored. It seems, more than anything, that Roxas is linked to emotions outside of his sadistic streak, because he wasn't at all the same kind of man that he was in CoM.

So yeah, all that to say that I liked how you made Roxas embody all the things Axel thought a heart should represent, and that losing said Heart is harder, because he did know the joy of once having it, unlike his previous heart. I'll be looking forward to the other parts of this story!

I agree with the transition, and the story's almost poetic.

The look Axel got on his face when he thought Roxas remembered was practically priceless, in that it was just so full of emotion and you know he wasn't doing it on purpose. It means something.
