choose or loose my ass

Everytime I turn on the TV it's some choose or loose shit. Who is MTV, or the morons on the channel with that vote or die stuff, to tell people to vote? Am I the only one who thinks voting is and exremely important thing and not to be taken so lightly? MTV is saying vote for anything just get out and vote. That means you are going to get a million ( Read more... )

I agree whole heartedly with your view upon 'qualifications' in order to vote, that the only people who should be voting are the ones who are intelligent enough to know what will be best for the nation, however, if you think about it- that's just not fair. Who are we to tell who is intelligent enough to vote? I think that there should be a test given in order to qualify; haha. Chose or Lose is just trying to get people ages 18-24 (that's the MTV target population) to get out and vote, since the voter turn-out in the last election was so low in that age group. Their messages are also very positive, and I think that it will indeed have a great effect on this upcoming election. People are going to vote because the want to, not because MTV tells them to.

yea, the intentions are good with these choose or lose programs, but not all people should be voting. i know that if i were old enough, i probably would not vote, because i just don't know which candidate would be the better choice. i'd just be following my parents, or my friends, or anybody else, and that vote would be worthless. and yea, there would really be no way to stop unintelligent people from voting, it just isn't fair. all makes you think, i guess.

ok, let me in on this junk: MTV has an openly democratic stance. they always direct their ads and campaigning in the democratic light. the reason that they want people to vote on things that arer so trivial is because if you find it out, the democrats support things that are what kids in our age group appreciate. there was a big confusion at the MTV VMAs because they thought that kerry's daughters would get a standing ovation, when instead they got booed! all the news networks were saying how suprised they were by that. when you get to college, even the kids who you wouldnt think watch the news, watch it. i feel like ive heard a lot about kerry and a lot about bush. theres never going to be a complete understanding of each of the candidates because so much of the shit they do is staged. one can never know whether bush really felt terribe about the hurricane hitting here or whether it was a campaign member that said, "hey we better get down there so it looks good for the election". also, nobody ever knows if kerry really likes to ( ... )

restrictions violate freedoms granted in the constitution and therefore there'd have to be an ammendment. the problem with only inteligent people voting is that an eltist group evolves out of this and further restrictions can be placed on those unable to vote, nullifying democracy. although there are a lot of dumb fucks out there, they all hace "certain unalienable rights". i probably spelled that wrong.
last nite i saw an add and it was so fuckign scary...just absolutely the scariest thing i've ever seen...something about apathy dog food, and then the girl is tied up like a dog. fucking weird.
