Ku and I have seen Felidae. We liked it, although can't say it's on a level with Secret of NIMH or Watership Down... or even Plague Dogs (which is amazingly horrible awesome). The problem for me was the pacing was VERY quick and felt rushed and that stopped my enjoyment a bit. BUT I did like it a lot too and would put it on the lowest level of being with those aforementioned films.
If you want to watch some awesome animation, find the 'Cobbler Cut' of The Thief and the Cobbler - or just read the wiki article. It's a DAMN interesting story of failed animation, and the cobbler cut (which I saw once) with bits of storyboards and so on, is just amazing... and quite upsetting to think of how long this was worked on and how it failed to see the light as the vision it was... um. rambles.
Well, you know how much I love NIMH so nothing ever approaches that level for me ♥ I have to say I liked Felidae a lot more than Watership Down, partly because there was a lot about it that reminded me of NIMH and because Cats + crime is awesome. It seems to get compared to WD a lot (even on the cover of the novel). I'd like to read the novel of WD sometime, but I think the other thing I liked about Felidae is that I didn't find it as upsetting as WD for some reason! Maybe because it was presented as a murder mystery.
Wow, I'd not heard of that! I'll have to read all about it when I get chance - it looks very interesting!
