All I did hardware wise was upgrade to 2Gb of DDR400 RAM, and add a huge ol' fan and heatsink system on my cpu and thenover clock my old Athlon 2800+, so its now running just a little under 2.9Ghz

Its harder than that, you gotta hack into some of the system kernel files...or just do what I did.
