By the end of your entry you came to an important realization. Those who hold back do not have the chance of being hurt. Being hurt inflicts sadness more often than not, however happiness is the end of a spectrum. This leads to happiness not being able to exist without sadness. If you reflect on disappointments, emotional bruises, and dramatic episodes you've experienced you will find most of them have ended up being constructive in the long run. Through sadness, we learn happiness. Sadness is a product of being hurt, and we can only be hurt if we are open with our feelings.
