The youngest of the Meronowich girls sat outside on the front steps to Hogwarts starring out and down the path usually taken to Hogsmeade. She often found herself in random places outside just thinking. Remus wandered out, and sat down silently beside her. He simply reveled in the fresh air for a moment before speaking.

"Is our entire house insane, or just me?"

Keda laughed softly, sheilding her eyes from the sun as she looked up to see Remus Lupin, one of the Gryffindor boys Ali's age.

"Aye, they've all pretty much lost it," she admitted with a grin. "What brings your out here Lupin?"

"Air. It's so stuffy inside... I wish they'd figure out a way to ventilate the castle without letting all the wildlife in." Remus inspected the older Gryffindor momentarily; she was pretty, in an intimidating sort of way, and there was something very commanding about her.

Perhaps it had something to do with the full nine-inch difference in their heights. Remus suddenly felt very small. "Last time I opened a window, a deer got in. On the third floor!"

Keda laughed slightly at the thought of a deer landing in the middle of one of the classrooms. "I wouldn't doubt it around here, it is a magical school after all right?"

Absent-mindedly she fiddled with the gold chain that lay around her neck staring off down the path. After a few moments she looked back to the younger boy, he seemed rather short even for his age.

"So are you into Quidditch any?" she asked, not able to think up another conversation topic, as she found when starting with politics one usually got bad responces.
