Was roaming at LJ and realized I was in this community. I've seen the last post has been in April. Are there any alive LJ users at K-state? Was just wondering...
Yeah, working on graduate studies in strategic communication, though the school is better known for journalism. I've never had a chance to choose my school. )) We'll see how it goes, initially was a bit disappointed with the program, but it seems now I am starting to appreciate how it turns out. )) What are you doing now?
Liked your avatar. I am a relatively new to Kansas, so gradually getting used to this fluctuation of temperatures between day and night. Just like on Mars.
I knew it was some catchy phrase "you are not in Kansas anymore". It was actually used in a leaflet, distributed to Americans travelling overseas. It was part of the Deptartment of State public diplomacy efforts for US citizens to project a better image of the country when travelling abroad, as stated "becoming a global citizen". I don't know something made me laugh when I saw Kansas mentioned there.
Do you recall "Predator-2"? When they landed in the jungles of the Amazon river one GI said: "just like in Kansas". It's a nice place, though. I spent a year in central Texas (11 years ago) and have to say I like it better in Manhattan.

You're right in that odd no-humidity-yet-just-enough part of the world now...
*points and laughs*
Okay, I'd give up Florida weather for Kansas in a heartbeat, really...
