Birth Story

If I was writing a cheesey story about a pregnant woman, I'd use a lot of foreshadowing leading up to the delivery. For instance, I'd have her pack up her office on Friday, set out her FMLA papers on the desk in anticipation and not sign up for the Christmas potluck lunch the following week. All "just in case." I'd give her lots of contractions ( Read more... )

Goodness, Katie, she's beautiful! I would like to point out that I was a minute off of Adeline's date o'birth :P

Hope you and the family have a lovely holiday.

A minute? That's pretty amazing! Next time I will pay more attention to your predictions!

Wait. Next time?! What the heck am I saying? :)

I hope you have a great holiday too! You deserve a fun and relaxing time with all you've been through recently.

Wow.

Just wow.

You did an amazing thing, Katie. And it will just get more and more amazing.

What a fantastic chronicle.

I cried.

Thank you, Bee.

It's all so strange. I don't feel like I did anything at all. At least nothing that I had a choice in. I just feel lucky things ended up the way they have.

Hey Katie!

What a beautifully written, funny, sweet birth story! Yes, I totally misted up. I am so happy for all of you, and so glad you're doing okay. I hope your recovery continues to go well. Adeline is such a beautiful, beautiful girl. You all look great, you really do.

Thanks so much for writing up your experiences and sharing them. And thanks to your friend for updating your journal and letting us know what was going on.

I'm so glad y'all are all home and settling in. My very best to you all!

Cheers,
Jennifer

Thank you! And thanks for reading. I know things will go better for you, not that I'm lamenting my experience at all. I predict your labor will cooperate better with the medical profession's expectations and you'll be able to get your epidurally goodness! :)

We're doing more than okay, really, and I'm so lucky that things went so well, that I'm healing quickly and that Adeline is (so far, knock on wood!) a good baby. :) I'm touched by how excited everyone is that she's here. I want to show her off everywhere!

And I can't wait until Henry/Caroline is here too! Take care of yourself until then.

The best chapter yet in the novel of your life. When you can manage to sleep and your breasts are no longer sore, it just gets better and better. You'll be crying at how beautiful she is.
