About two weeks ago, Dad umpired a baseball game. He called a timeout after the third batter. His face was white, he was covered in sweat and he said he was dizzy. Katie, my thoughts are with you. Eric sends his as well.

I can't imagine...none of us can, until we have to, I suppose. We're not wired that way.

I looked at both our entries from the Florida trip, where there is a picture of you and I and your father outside Dockside Dave's.

How terrible.

How frustrating that they never called the paramedics a week before. That must make you think endless "what ifs?"

Katie, we are so so very sorry. Growing up sucks so bad, but I guess this is the stuff that makes life important.

I am so sorry. It's so unfair. What a painful time you are having...we went through this exact same thing two weeks ago with my grandmother. It's all the more tragic that it's your dad.

That is a beautiful picture of your dad and the little bug on the swing. I hope it brings comfort to you.
