Am I crazy?

I just registered for my first 1/2 marathon!  Woohooo!  I'm excited to give this a try... I've only done one 10k race prior to this, but I really want something to work towards in my running.  One of my friends here is doing it too.  She lives a bit far from me so we probably won't train together much, but at least we can encourage each other, and ( Read more... )

*raises hand* I believe I am the one to give advice on the half-marathon running of the people who read this journal...I've done two now and am signed up for another in Sept--For me, it is really fun so I kind of can't get enough!! Fun to race and to train for it. One might call this being bitten by the running bug. It leaves you with this intense itch to run and then run some more ( ... )

Cool, I want to try the meditation while running, I like that idea. Do you listen to music? I normally do, and sometimes I also like to listen to a podcast.

I'm really enjoying running recently. At my new apartment there's these really nice trails through the woods that are perfect. I'm only worried about training because I guess according to this one regime I found I should start in August... when I'll be in Turkey. But I'll find some time to run in Turkey... still I'll have to really pick it back up when I get back! If you have a training schedule you think works well let me know...

So I've never run and probably never will run a half marathon, BUT, I have many friends who run constantly! One of my friends likes to listen to books while she runs. And all of them support each other and run together sometimes. I think it's really important to have at least one other person to help motivate and celebrate with after the race! Good luck training! :)

I ran a half marathon a few years ago! It was...interesting?

It would have been a lot less painful if I hadn't had my wisdom teeth taken out a few weeks prior & interrupted my running schedule ;]

I liked running near a 'pace bunny' group - kept me consistent in my pace.
