To begin, yes, as I could have predicted but didn’t want to admit, I indeed failed to keep my promise of posting at least two times a week while in Turkey.  It was quite the pathetic attempt by me, with only two posts the entire trip.  However, I will now, not only as a penance, but also in the name of not wanting to be in Bremen right now, begin

The Bosphorous is a sea? What a neat word. It looks pretty too. Miss you!

The Bosporus isn't quite a sea, it's a straight, so it connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, and also divides the European and Anatolian sides of Istanbul. I like the word, too. I think they call it something different in Turkish, though... İstanbul Boğazı... with the "g" silent and the non-dotted "i" pronounced as the upsidedown "e" symbol. Hehe, Turkish is interesting... I always want to pronounce the silent "g".
